The Kawai KS-10

This was - is - the baby of the range.

Curiously, it uses a slightly different body shape. Still a twin cutaway design, but the cutaways are shaped differently, And with the odd cutout at the base of the body.

That apart, the twin humbuckers remain, the open headstock remains and the control layout is the same as the other KS models.

Body:    Solid silver heart or white ash or mahogany
Neck:    3-piece hard rock maple
PickUps:    2 humbuckers, unspecified manufacturer
Controls:    2 vol, 2 tone, 3-way selector
Finish:    metallic silver, violin sunburst
Other:    the mini-toggle coil splits the HBs

And here’s mine.

I managed to grab this from eBay a good few years ago. It’s the Jr model (see the bridge/tailpiece arrangement), but it’s in amazingly good condition and would be a 10/10 if not for a chip in the finish on the rear of the body. Nice and light, easy to play, although the pickups are clearly not as strong as the KS-11 and KS-12 models.
